The Shular Institute: A Culinary Dream Come True

In 1993, Sean Rush arrived in Atlanta from Milwaukee to attend Morehouse College. He had no idea that he would one day become a pioneer in the culinary arts.

After graduating from Morehouse, Sean began a career in marketing. In 2014, he met Chef Daryl Shular, who was training to become the world’s first minority certified master chef. The two men quickly bonded over their shared passion for food and hospitality.

Chef Shular shared his dream of opening a culinary institute that would train the next generation of black chefs. Sean was immediately on board, and the two men began working together to make the Shular Institute a reality.

After seven years of hard work, the Shular Institute is finally opening its doors. The institute will offer a variety of programs, from culinary arts degrees to certificate programs in specific areas of cooking. The goal of the Shular Institute is to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the culinary industry.

The Shular Institute is also committed to diversity and inclusion. The institute’s faculty and staff will be made up of people from all backgrounds, and the institute will offer scholarships to students from underrepresented communities.

The Shular Institute is a dream come true for Sean Rush and Chef Daryl Shular. They are excited to share their passion for food with the next generation of chefs. They are also committed to making the culinary industry more diverse and inclusive.
